What a big week it’s been. Julia Gillard calling an election on the 21 August 2010. Just over a month until we decide who to vote for.

A few months ago we introduced you to an artist known as Kika LN. Kika LN a music artist from Townsville who has ambitions of becoming a known singer. She has been in CDBaby for a while now the wait is over and Kika LN is now in iTunes. The EP album is quite cheap $10.14 AUD. A must get EP if your a local in Townsville. Well we’ve purchased a HDV video camera to record some of Townsville’s Major events with. We have also just launched our new iPhone and iPod Touch application. Keep up to date with our latest shows through our new application. Best of all it’s cheap and supports the show.

Suburban FM Podcasting has received exclusive tickets to the V8s at the Townsville 400. We have a grandstand position and also access to the INXS concert in Reid Park!!

Suburban FM Podcasting have purchased a Macbook Pro. We hope to use the Macbook pro for phone hookups as well as live hook ups away from the studio. We will be purchasing a nice USB headset for the Pro. It’s a very fast machine and has a superior battery life.

Images have been created for the development of an Apple iTunes Application that will be able to run on iPod Touch, iPads and iPhones. Below is an image from TwitPic that we’ve put forward for the proposed iPhone Application. It takes about 30 days to approve an Apple Application that will be featured in the iTunes App Store.

SuburbanFM Podcasting have lined up a podcast interview with Lucy Rose from Lucille Rose Photography. Lucy is a young business minded person who has started a photography business. Listen to her story in our all exclusive podcast on the 17th of April 2010.

Have just integrated a script into the website so that you can listen to the podcasts in a new window and navigate away from our website. We have completed some studies and have found that people will spend more time on a website listening to a podcast if there is an option to open a podcast in a new window. Similar to the experience of Windows Media Player. Thanks to Dave Jackson’s suggestion about enabling an option for this. Dave Jackson School of Podcasting (SOP).

Have rebuilt editing and recording maching for Suburban FM. We now have a solid AMD X4 Quad Core. This enables faster editing and more precise recording not to mention a little bit of extra speed. We have setup a network to cope with Video rendering. See Sony Vegas Network Rendering Service.

The directories that we have been submitted into have helped 100 fold. Some have proved a must in gathering listeners of Suburban FM. One which has come out on top so far has been Blubrry. Blubrry have given us a free mobile version of our site which is vital in reaching audience members tuning in via Smart Phones or iPods. Our mobile access url is: Blubrry Mobile Suburban FM.

I’ve said before Suburban Podcasting has been making significant changes in the last few weeks. With the design of an article / magazine style website and the facility to broadcast our podcasts live we have decided to change our name. We have changed our original name from Saburban Podcasting to Suburban Podcasting.

In other areas we are now in the process of getting a static IP for internet radio as well as a faster 1.5Mbit/s internet connection for a faster upload which will support up to 5 live listeners at a time.

Well, I said it before and I’m going to say it again. Saburban Podcasting has trialled some software, BroadWave Audio Streaming Server. We believe that this product will benefit when we start running a live show starting sometime in March. We will keep you updated for when we have all the hardware.

Have commenced my studies in the area of High School Education majoring in Physical Education. Thanks James Cook University. At present my subjects include; Foundations of Education & Technology, Foundations of Education. Both I’m anticipating are going to be very fascinating subjects. There will be a commitment to both Uni and Work. So if I don’t check in for a while I haven’t abandoned you. I’m just training   ;)

Have purchased an iPod Touch in the hope that we can record at mobile locations easily. We have also picked up on the amount of search terms that Saburban Podcasting comes up for within iTunes. A fair few amazingly.

Saburban Podcasting is planning on recording our first Co-Hosted episode. We will hoepfully be having Danial Squire. Great character who has showed some interest in the casts that we do. We also plan on giving away some business cards in the not to distant future for a business that is starting out in Townsville. Here at Saburban Podcasting we have recognised the potential that young people can have. The younger generation are the future and will be responsible for the things that happen over the next 100 years. We hope to build a professional relationship with people in areas such as arts and drama. This may include things like Singing, Dancing, Acting or even Modelling. The first person we will be assisting is Tristian Goodwin an aspiring Model. Hopefully we can get him a few breaks.

Saburban Podcasting we have made a step to include audio from an Upcoming Youtube artist in our podcasts. This is done to help the youtube artist get known allot more than what they are currently. This is because we have faith that these users will become successful in the future. Hopefully faster with our help.

Saburban Podcasting has since purchased two 22 inch LCD HD Monitors for the purpose of video editing and Podcasting. We have found that by having larger work screens that the productivity of our service has increased. 2 Samsung Native HD Monitors at 50000:1 Contrast Ratio.

Saburban Podcasting will be recording a band titled, Two Steps From Home. They are releasing their first ever studio EP Album. So, it’s not in iTunes until Saturday. Our role will be to interview and video record the band members and roadies. The event is held at WYAM in Townsville on Saturday the 14th 7pm-9pm.

Saburban Podcasting has come a long way. We have managed to enlist several performers who were interested in being recorded for a Podcast as well as conducting several Talkback casts. We have just finished recording a video with GYMP Media which will be used for promoting our podcast to Youtubers. We are also planning on filming a Video which will show other people how they too can staff a cheap and affordable Podcasting Studio.

Have recorder our first ever two Podcasts with a second person. We recorded it in a studio with a High Definition camera as well as recording several songs on Bagpipes and Guitar. We interviewed Torres Weka and James Linn who are two great Townsville entertainers. Just search our website for more details about the two.

Have just purchased a HiDefenition Video Camer HD-GZ10. The camera which I’ve purchased has microphone inputs as well as a great TriPod. The Camera is worth 1200 brand new. We will be using this Video Camera for film productions for one of our channel partners GYMP Media.

Townsville Podcasts was started on the 28th of September 2009 as a Home based Podcasting hobby. This idea of Townsville Podcasting has been started with the hope of expanding in the future to perhaps have special guests and selected special guests.
